Delta State Deputy Governor, Barrister Kingsley Otuaro, has reiterated his call on all Deltans to avail themselves the opportunity of the ongoing public hearing on the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) amendment bill in order to contribute positively on the prosperity agenda.

Barrister Otuaro, who fielded questions from newsmen during the reception party of the thanksgiving service by Hon. Julius Pondi, member representing Burutu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, in Warri, noted that the amendment bill sent to the State Assembly by the Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, some weeks ago was aimed at strengthening the management procedures of the commission.

According to him, "the purpose of that bill was basically to restructure the commission in line with what is obtainable in the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). It is meant to ensure managerial stability of the commission, to ensure that the management of the commission lives up to its expectations in terms of quality staffing."

The Deputy Governor reaffirmed the governor's position that the bill is not ill intended or motivated as insinuated in some parts of the state. "I want to say once again that the DESOPADEC amendment bill sent to the House is for the benefits of the state and all Deltans. There is an on-going public hearing in relation to the DESOPADEC amendment bill and as a people-oriented government, I want to reassure all Deltans that the Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa led Government of Delta State take serious cognizance of the opinion of the people and Deltans should avail themselves the opportunity of the public hearing to make their various inputs that will bring out the very best of the amendments bill when it becomes law. So that together we will be able to deliver our prosperity to all Deltans through the various institutions of government." Barrister Otuaro said.

The State Deputy Governor described Julius Pondi as focused and a man who is determined to actualize his set out goals for the people. He enjoined the people of Burutu to give Hon. Pondi the needed support to enable him deliver on his promise to them.

Barrister Otuaro, used the occasion to thank the people for voting and believing in Dr. Okowa-led administration. He said as sons and daughters of God they will always make progress in governance. The member representing Burutu Federal constituency, Hon Julius Pondi, led top government functionaries for his thanksgiving saying God alone gave him victory at polls.
