Delta State Deputy Governor, Barr. Kingsley Otuaro, has asserted that the present economic crunch and fall in the federal allocation will not frustrate the vision of building a new Delta where prosperity will thrive.

Barr. Otuaro made the assertion yesterday when management and staff of his office organised a get together party to mark his one hundred days in office. The state deputy govenor noted that the one hundred days in office was eventful judging from the foundation laid, decisions taken, programmes conceptualized and executed and lives being positively affected by the SMART agenda.

According to him, the ongoing skill acquisition programme at Songhai Delta will not only give meaningful employment to six thousand in every six months, but will also alleviate poverty, it will stamp out crime and criminal activities ,linked to youths as a result of joblessness. He used the occasion to call on the youths in the state to key into the wealth creation agenda of Governor Okowa by ensuring that they enroll into the scheme to over above poverty and become employers of labour and not job seekers.

The deputy governor who lauded the staff for the honour done him, assured that he will assist Governor Okowa in putting smiles on the faces of the state workforce. He noted that government is aware of the enormous gains in human capital development, hence the renovation and overhauling of the technical colleges spreed across the three senatorial district of the state. Barr. Otuaro assured that no part of the state will be neglected in terms of development especially in road infrastructure, renovation of schools, upgrading of health centres and provision of landmark projects with direct effect on the lives of the people.

He said the present administration will not misplace the trust placed on them and the landslide victory at the governorship election and sued for the maximum cooperation of Deltans in the actualization of the set goals. The Permanent Secretary, Office of the Deputy Governor, Mr. Nduka Okonkwor, noted that the staff and management of the office decided to honour the deputy governor with a surprise get-to-together because of the transformation he brought immediately he assumed duty.

Mr. Okonkwor assured him of the loyalty of all cadres of staff in the office in pursuit of the set goals and appealed to him not to cease in carrying everyone along. Highpoint of the occasion was the presentation of a congratulatory card to the deputy governor and cutting of the cake to mark the one hundred days in office of the Delta State Deputy Governor, Barr Kingsley Otuaro.
