An enlarged stakeholders meeting is to be conveyed in two weeks time by the State Government to find lasting solution to the activities of Fulani herdsmen and security challenges in the State. The State Deputy Governor, Barr. Kingsley Otuaro, disclose this yesterday whole addressing a group of protesters who staged a peaceful protest to his office on the security breach caused by the activities of some Fulani herdsmen in their various communities across the State.

Barr. Otuaro, said the nefarious activities of these cattle rustlers is already a national challenge, explaining that if nothing was done urgently, more lives and valuables will be lost to the ugly trend.

He said government will not fold its hands and allow its citizens die carelessly in the hands of mischief makers and called on the relevant agencies to ensure that law and order is maintained in all parts of the state. The Deputy Governor lauded the people for their peaceful disposition and advised them not to involved themselves in act that would jeopardize the peace currently being enjoyed in the state.

Barr. Otuaro who said some of the Hausa and Fulani, indigenes residing in the state have lived peacefully with Deltans stressed that plans are on to fish out the bad ones before they turn the state into a theatre of war.

He affirmed that Delta remained a home for all because of its hospitality and advised none indigenes to ensurE they obey the laws of the State in their place of residence. The spokes persons drawn from the three senatorial districts of the state, Mr. Godwin Jacob, Mr. Warri Eric, and Mr. Henry Onwuamalieze, said the move was to call on the State Government and security agencies to intervene in the killing and maiming of innocent citizens by alleged Fulani herdsmen who came to graze in their areas.

They alleged that most women have been raped and assaulted while on their way to their farms, stressing that if nothing was done immediately, there will be anarchy and lawlessness in the affected areas. The people issued a twenty-one day ultimatum to the cattle rustlers to leave the state or face a reprisal attack.
